Sam Houston State University Wake Boarding Club

I. Name:
The name of this organization shall be known as the Sam Houston State University Wake Boarding Club.

II. Purpose:
The purpose of this organization is to bring students of common wake boarding interest together. This organization will eventually compete at collegiate level for wake boarding and to have Sam Houston State University as a staple in the collegiate wakeboarding community. The objective of this organization is to have fun wake boarding.

III. Membership:
Membership into Sam Houston State University Wake Boarding Club shall consist of paying for at least one SHSU Wake Boarding t-shirt, one owns equipment, boat fees, cable lake charges and competition entry fees if competing.

IV. Meetings:
Meetings shall be held biweekly.

V. Officers:
1. President- Holding and scheduling meetings. Introducing possible events. Contact person for all organization information.
2. Vice President- Scheduling events. Assisting President with his/her duties.
3. Secretary- Marketing for all Sam Houston State University Wake Boarding Club. In charge of fundraising.
4. Treasurer- Holds all info for fees of events and lake days. Collection of all fees for events.

VI. Committees:
The following standing committees shall exist:
1. Fund-raising
2. Membership
3. Programming
4. Publicity

VII. Elections
1. The term of office for all positions is a year.
2. Elections will be held in September of each year.
3. Voting will consist of all current members placing a vote for each office position.


VIII. University Registration/Recognition:
At the beginning of each fall, spring, and summer semesters, this organization shall submit and Organization Update Form to the Department of Student Activities no later than the twelfth class day. Changes in officers that occur during the semester must be reported promptly. If this organization fails to abide by this policy, we must resubmit the “New Student Organization Application Packet” to the Student Activities Office and subsequently go before the Student Organizations’ Board for reconsideration to once again become an officially registered student organization.

IX. Amendments:
1. This constitution shall be amended by 51% vote of the membership.
2. A copy of all constitutional changes and amendments will be submitted to the Student Activities Office as described above.
